The Weight of Lies
They listened to their stories,
Then twisted them,
Then told them to others,
And it all became a lie.
They looked down at them,
They laughed at them,
They teased them—
No one was interested in knowing the truth.
Years went by,
The lie stained their life,
But they rose up,
And mouths remained open.
Years later, all were shocked
When they came to learn the truth.
Their lies had become the truth of their own,
Yet they couldn’t see in their own shadow.
Look not for fault in others,
Burden no one, laugh not at others.
Lie not about others—
Your words may fall before you.
